Happy 1st Birthday Nolan!

How can you only be one?... it seems so hard to think that at one point that we were only a family of 4 it seems like you have always been with us. Since the day you were born, you have just fit right in to this family, just going along with anything we do. You have such a personality, so sweet and happy and independent and quick and strong and your only one! I cant imagine how your personality will grow over the next year. Its clear your one of the 3 musketeers, your brothers love you so much and we can tell the feeling is mutual. We all love you so dearly! And to that we say HaPpY BiRtHdAy NoLaN!!!

1st Camping trip

2 weeks ago we went on the boys first camping trip, lucky for us we got to go with 3 other families! We had the best time i mean really, it was awesome. We knew Gavin and Colin would do great, just werent to sure about Nolan, but he did perfect, couldnt have asked for a better baby. He was in his pack n play most of the time, kinda in the middle of everyone, i mean what baby doesnt want to be the center of attention, right? We hung out during the day watching all 8 kids play so well together, running up the hill and sliding back down. Wandering through the trees trying to find something magical. Jason and Darrell got us some wood and then time for dinner and soon after that SMORES!! One of the families left due to their newborn needed to be home. We sat a round for a while just watching the kids, then soon it was getting dark and time for the kiddos to go to bed. Which really went very well, they were settled in a matter of minutes. With the fire roaring it was time to crack open the beers and sit around the fire with no little ears. It was a riot, we laughed so hard, it was the highlight! The night was a bit colder than we thought it was going to be so the kids slept with us for warmth, except for Gavin who refused, and somehow slept the best. so note to self... camp when the nights are warmer! Morning was cold and Jason got the fire started right away, we had some pop-tart breakfast and started packing up. thats when the story takes a turn for the mud, laughs, tears and well nerves. When we got there we crossed a little creek about a foot deep. The way over it was a little hairy but not to bad. the way back well the Vue went first and by holding our breath (and pushing) they got out but not before digging some holes in the mud. Then the Edge went and well lets just say we didnt think they were getting out, but by some miracle and lots of pushing they got out, again digging some holes in the mud. Now its the beasts turn... aka... our blazer. We thought ahh, no problem its way higher and well its the beast. Not so fast, we so didnt make it out of there, there was another way to the right that was pretty steep, i told Jason it would be no problem, but he had to try different ways, sure enough it came down to my way, and it took 2 times and we were out!! On the road home and we were ready for home! All in all it was a great trip, we want to go again soon!!

March, April and June

so lets just pretend that the month of May did not happen... yes i know thats not possible but according to my blog it didnt. What really happened is that May over happened, we did so many things. I will not bore you so i will post pics and sidebars about how it went, beacuse really arent the pictures that best?!? Mothers Day was awesome, we did our annual Fox Run picnic. The boys were as sweet as always and it was just nice to have that day. Mom of 3 boys , i love that this is my title!
Colin had a bite of a Mothers Day cupcake, you may not know but they put extra icing when its Mothers day ;)
Nolans Bathtub Hairdo, what a rockstar. I do have to say that Nolans favorite time of the day is bath time. He hears that water running and high tails (crawls) it to the bathroom, cute!
Thanx to Grandma and Grandpa, we got to go out for a night! We went out for a nice dinner and a local concert. So proud to be married to that man!
Takin' the top off, i know 3 boys that thought that was the coolest thing ever.
Royal Gorge bridge, yes i made it across... We had some wonderful family come into town to bury my Great Aunt (will post about that later), and got to spend some fun time with them. It was a great day, and awesome to spend time with them!!

My new toy!!

It has been a bit to long, things are just a little, for lack of a more intense word, CRAZY! With the house on the market you can only guess that 3 boys love to keep it clean, right?!? The showings have actually picked up quite a bit, so that is always good news. nothing terribly new just the boys always seem to keep us very busy. OH, Nolan got 4 teeth all at once, so the gummy smiles are gone:(

Ok so on to my new toy, i got (today) a Canon Rebel XSi. LOVE IT!!! this is one of the coolest things i have gotten in a LONG time. With boys this cute we thought we should properly capture them! So here are some shots that Jason and I were playing around with!

Life

With 3 boys i guess you are bound to be a little busy, but at the same time i think we kind of rely on being busy! So we have been doing a lot lately, as it starts to get a little warmer, more outside things! Gavin is no longer a toddler, i think he hasnt been for awhile now but it hit me, i looked at him and thought wow he is a kid now, like a little man! he wants to learn everything and know all of what is going on. Colin well he is 2, figuring out his independence which actually i think is a lot of fun! He is still quite the charmer, but becoming more cautious than i thought he would. He is very careful not to get hurt, makes sense after having the cast and all. Nolan well he is coming into one of my favorite stages, not an infant but a BABY, almost a toddler. He gets up on his kness and rocks which means we are not far off from crawling!!!!! He is working on 3 teeth, as of now he has none but he has 1 bottom and 2 top that are almost through. He is stil very content with life! Over all we are so enjoying life with the guys, couldnt be any better than this!~ Fox Run park with Nolan

a new addition to the family

hahaha got ya didnt I?!?!! no, not that kind of addition we bought (with out financing) a 1975 Chevy Blazer! Jason has always wanted one and we would like to do some camping sooner than later. We love it so much!! The white top that you see completely comes off for a convertible truck, is there any other way to camp?! It has a relatively new engine, and totally green inside and out. The boys are in love they think they have their own monster truck. Anyways just wanted to share!
and heres some other pictures just because well, there cute!!

boys will be...BOYS!

I guess when you have 3 boys something is bound to happen. On Tue last week Gavin and Colin were playing outside and Colin came in crying pretty hard. It took me quite a while to get him calmed down. After a little while he stopped crying i asked him what happened and he said "basketball" i asked Gavin and he said he fell on the basketball. When Colin got up to walk he was limping pretty good , this was pretty late in the afternoon, so i decided to see if maybe it would get better. Well it didnt and so i called the after hours line for our pediatrician. So they told us to wait till the morning and make an appt. with our doctor. So we got in on Wed and they took x-rays of his ankle our doc didnt see anything and sent us home thinking maybe just a muscle was hurt. On Thur morning our doc called me first thing in the morning and told me that the radiologist looked at it last night and saw a fracture in the ankle. So they made us an appt with an Orthopeadic Surgeon for Mon morning. We tried to keep him off it this last weekend that was not so easy, you would really have never known he was hurt. So Mon is here and we went to the surgeon and they looked at his x-rays and she said that he cracked his fibula towards the bottom of it close to his ankle and of course there is a growth plate there. So they casted his leg, Colin picked Red for his cast. He did great when they put it on, but then tried to walk on it and refused. So i carried him out of there and home we went. He had lunch and had a nap. So now we will see how the rest of the day goes, but they said he will learn to walk on it it may take frustration first. He will have to cast on for 2 and a half weeks. The main reason they put the cast on was that he is 2! And 2 year olds dont seem to listen when you say dont run or jump. So pray for a fast 2 and a half weeks!!!

a day in the life of...

So today was a pretty normal day for us, so i thought i would take some pictures and tell you how it went. The boys all woke up at about 7am, Gavin and Colin decided they would play in their room for a little while before coming down for breakfast. Nolan and i went downstairs and for some rolling around time on the floor. The boys finally came down and we all had breakfast. I worked out for a little while, while the boys ran around and played and entertained Nolan. By that time it was time for Nolans first nap, and the boys decided they wanted to watch Monsters Inc. So we all sat down and watched a movie and read books. Nolan woke up and i took a shower, got all 3 of the boys dressed to go out. I forgot i ran the dishwasher so had to empty that real quick. Then it was off to Home Depot to get some Caulking to redo in the Shower in our room, another check of the list to getting our house ready! On our way home i was talking to the boys asking them what they wanted for lunch and Gavin asked for Chips and Cheese. Now this is one of my fondest memories of growing up. I usually got it when i was home sick from school, my mom would heat up Cheese whiz put i layer or Ruffles on a plate then put some melted chz of them and then a layer of fritos and some more melted chz on top. I loved it!! And since we hadnt done it for lunch in quite some time i thought oh heck why not, we dont aways have to follow the rules.

After lunch it is time for naps for Colin and Nolan and quiet time for Gavin while i try and catch up on work. To much of my surprise Gavin fell asleep too!! Which he almost never does. Nolan decided to take a short nap so it was me and him after playing for a little while i decided i would help Jason get a head start and i took the old caulking out of the shower. By that time Colin woke up, and crazy enough Gavin was still sleeping, So i read a couple of books to Colin and Nolan. We went downstairs and i got a bowl of Cheerios for Colin and Nolan to share. This is what happened next...

So yes Colin was feeding Nolan Cheerios, isnt that what big brothers are for?!?!? Gavin then woke up and he wanted to some Pretzels, so Colin and him sat at the table for a little snack while i feed Nolan his 2nd baby food for the day. I cleaned up a little ( swept and mopped) while Gavin and Colin played outside and Nolan played in his exersauser. Nolan then went down for his third and final nap. Now i am getting dinner ready, sine Colin has swim class at 5:30 tonight. After Swim class it will be Nolans dinner and bath time and then story and bedtime. Anyways that is just one of the many days in the life of us!
