Breckenridge

when i was asked what i wanted to do for my Birthday, i said Breckenridge! Every year right around my Birthday Breckenridge has an ice fest, they have snow sculptures, its amazing. So today was the last day and we were there we had so much fun. We walked around and looked at all the sculptures and the boys loved it they had lots of animals in the carvings. We had Colin so bundled up he looked like a little penguin waddling down the street, it was adorable. Gavin thought he was so grown up he stayed so close to us, but always stayed slightly ahead of us so he could lead us! After that we shopped in the town didnt buy anything but had a great time looking. We had lunch at, of course, Bubba Gump it was perfect for a crazy family like ours. I stopped half way through lunch and thought i cannot believe how great we have it, our boys crazy as they are are so well behaved and such personalities at the same time. Mom and Dad stopped off to get the last puzzles in their collection at this awesome puzzle shop, if you go to Breck you have to go there it is so cool. Then it was time to go back home the boys slept most of the way home, and if they werent sleeping they had us laughing! What a wonderful day, wouldnt of had anything else.

Soccer

We signed Gavin up for soccer about 3 weeks ago, we had tried it before and he really enjoyed it! He just loves it this time he really pays attention and has a great time. Colin does real well watching i thought he would have a hard time but he likes to watch and it is some time for me and him alone. But dont get me wrong he is READY to be out there. Gavin runs up and down the soccer field like crazy, i think he has enough energy to to play soccer twice a day everyday. On a baby note i had my 14 week appt yesterday and heard the heartbeat and everything is fine, i am going to schedule my mid pregnancy ultrasound, which we will NOT find out what we are having, not after last time.

Finger Paints

Not a whole lot has happened but the last 3 days have been eventful, if you cant tell, i have got to keep up on this blog more, i am getting a laptop for work in a day or so, i hope that will help me keep up on this as i will be more portable. Well today was a day to stay inside so i thought it would be fun to finger paint! Fun doesn't even begin to describe it. I got everything set up newspaper on the kitchen floor, they boys stripped down to diapers. I tried my best to explain as easy as i could how we needed to stay on the newspaper. I got they construction papers in front of them, with names already on it, as i knew i couldn't afterwards, if you can tell i have done this before, when i was with 3-5 years olds. So i put i spot of finger paint in each color right next to them. Gavin jumped right in, literally feet first, so once i helped him to see how his hands worked better, man he was all over it, just loved it! Colin, well he dipped the tips of his fingers in the paint smeared it around his knees and belly i tried to show him to put it on the paper, no interest. So i was helping Gavin again, and i look over and Colin is attempting to put his fingers in the paint again, he does, and HATES it, i mean real tears and everything, he is trying to shake the paint off his fingers. It was all i could do not to laugh. After they were both washed in the sink, i hung the pictures on the frig, they came to look at them and BOTH are SO proud of what they had done. Every day is so fun with them!

Happy Birthday Mommy

Yesterday was my Birthday, and what a good one it was! My mom came over in the morning and the boys and her made me a chocolate birthday cake. No i mean they REALLY helped, they poured in ingredients and helped stir, and yes oh yes they decorated. It was such a joy to watch, so well behaved, so interested what a fun memory i wont forget. After Jason came home we went to Fargo's for a fun pizza dinner. Gavin and Colin love to "play" the race car games, in the arcade room they have. After that it was home for presents, the boys made me a bear at build a bear nothing would have been better than that! And Jason got me some essentials and a devotion book. What a MAN!! Then it was time for cake, well Colin did not like to feeling of cake on his fingers so he passed... but Gavin did ever so gracefully with a fork, and some fingers too! He loves it, and i have to say Jason and I thought it was the best ever. It does help that my sons made it for me! What a fun family we have, i wouldn't trade it! Thanx BOYS, mommy loves you guys.

nothing like Daddy

Of course the boys love me, but it is something different with Daddy, when he comes home they know they are his first priority, he cant wait to get home to them and just play! During most of Nov and Dec Jason had to work long days, and felt he missed so much each day, now he is back to normal and is off work at 3pm each day, they have so much fun every afternoon. Soetime i even make up excuses to go to the office so the 3 of them can have some man time. They have one of the best Dad's around, no contest.

thoughtful and polite

For about 3 weeks Gavin was having a really hard time with Colin, sharing, pushing, etc. so as trying to teach him not to do these things to anyone but also to not get frustrated with him, because he has been picking up on that emotion as well. Well finally we saw the light go on in his head, he has stated to be so thoughtful and polite, when Colin cries he asks him "what happened, you ok?" "need mommy?" it is so sweet to see him blossom into such a BIG BROTHER! He has also started to say thanx and no thanx and please without us asking, it is just amazing, sometimes i just sit back and think they are just these wonderful little people who are already becoming such amazing humans. Gavin has also hit another big milestone he can count from 1 to 10 by himself, we were sitting at Applebees for dinner and i said something to Jason about "yea we need to count on that" Gavin starts 1,2,3,4 ... i couldnt believe it, we are so proud of him. Colin is doing really good as well, he is steadly gaining weight and we think he is just perfect, he has really taken on to the putting the shapes in the right hole toys, he will sit there for quite a while determined as you can get, he works till he gets it.

testosterone

Some of our good friends came over today, I meet Meredith online when Gavin was just a few months old her son, Tyler, is about the same age as Gavin. They have played together since the beginning, then she found out she was pregnant and shortly after i did too! Then came Carter and then our Colin, so they have all been such great friends since the start!! It is so wonderful to watch them play together you can already see little friendships forming. And the friendship between Meredith and I has been a Godsend!! They did great today, a few squabbles but nothing really for 2 two year olds and 2 one year olds, this picture isnt from today but just thought i would share it, i am sure that one day we can get all 4 of them to look at the same time, it might be in 5 years but i am sure that it will happen.
