On the charts

well this is very late, but i took Colin in for his 2 year check up, i guess it was about 2 weeks ago. Colin is just a little guy has been for quite some time now, he takes after his Dad just down right skinny. Colin hasnt been on growth charts for awhile he is usually in the 0%-1% range for his weight. Although he just doesnt look that small, he is definitely skinny but not unhealthy looking. Well when i took him in they weighted him and he was at 24.5 pounds, which puts him in the 11%, the doc was so happy with that! I was thrilled!!!!! They measured his head and it has always been just right at 50% and it was in the 85% so the doc says he should be caching up real soon, he should hit a good growth spurt! He is doing so good, talking up a storm, playing so well with Gavin, who is for sure his best friend. Just a really cool kid!

Happy 2nd birthday Colin!!!

well late happy birthday, it was yesterday the 14th. I was going to post the day got away from me. Jason took the day of yesterday, to spend with us for Colin's birthday. One of the coolest things that happened yesterday was totally out of my control, we woke up to snow!!! Colin was so excited, that it had snowed just for his birthday. We had a full day planned for him, first if you know Colin at all the kid loves 3 things, turtles, rocks, and his blanket. So we thought we could help at least one out, we took him to the trading post to pick out some new rocks, and have lunch. He had a blast, and gavin even got some new rocks too. Then it was naptime so we all took a break. Then Jason and I took Colin and Gavin to the movies, and not just the regular movies but the IMAX not to bad for your first movie experience. So we saw Madagascar 2 on the IMAX, the boys loved it, they did such a good job. They got popcorn, candy and soda, we had to go all out since it was their first movie. It was such a fun day, and all thanx to Colin!!

Colin you have made our lives so fantastic, i could never imagine not having you here! You are your Daddys boy, not only do you look like him but you have some of his best traits. We are so proud of the boy you are growing up to be. You are so social and funny, you will talk to anyone and tell them whatever you can think of. If you can make someone laugh that is when your heart shows. What a cool little kid you have turned out to be. We love you so much!!!!!

4 years i never could have imagined!

Today is our 4th anniversary, crazy how time goes by. So its been 4 years and 3 boys later, how cool it is that we have 3 awesome boys! Jason has been something i never expected, 2 words describe him, my best friend. I know sometimes that cliche is used loosly but really he is thee is no other person that is to me what he is. He has become everything to me, and in a simple way of saying "the love of my life." Yea sure we have been through some not so fun times, but they have never been horrible. Never have i known more than this that he is it for me. I mean "it" for me, these 4 years is what my life is about. I feel full, and Jason and i together is why.

Punkin Patch

we went last weekend to the punkin patch at the Happy apple farm, it was a lot of fun!!The boys had a fun time there picking out the perfect pumpkins, when we went to buy them Gavin was kinda disappointed there wasnt any candy in them. I explained that there was seeds inside, and that in a couple of weeks we would dig them all out, and then i explained trick or treating to him again. I think he gets Halloween now. Then we took the boys to pick out their Halloween costumes, we decided that we would let them pick them out without our opinion involved. We decided to go to Party City since we had received a magazine from them in the mall showing all their Halloween costumes. During Gavins "quiet time" (he has stopped napping) he has studied the magazine, so when we got to Party City he knew just what he wanted... a lil' Frankenstein. It is so cute and he is so excited to wear it! Colin picked out right away a Shrek costume, equally adorable!! Nolan is going to be a pumpkin, i cant wait to show you guys pictures!!!

Gavin's 3 year

We went in for Gavins 3 year appiontment today, he is 38 inches tall, that puts him in the 70% and he weighs 32.5 lbs which is 45%, they also took his blood pressure, he really wasnt sure about that, it was 78/46, perfect for his age. He is doing everything right on time and some things early. When we switched pediatricians the vaccine schedules were different, at 3 they are not supposed to get shots, but with the switch he had to get 2, he did really well. Of course cried a little but stopped right away. All in all a good quick visit, next is Colin's turn in about a month.

What a great day we got there right as they opened, and ended up staying for 5 hours. Each time we go the boys get more and more interactive with the animals, though we still cant get Colin to feed the giraffes, its something about that tounge. Well thought i would share some pictures!

1st Dentist visits

Gavin had his 1st dentist visit scheduled a couple of weeks ago, he has been pretty excited about it!
Well we got there and he was just fine in the waiting room
once they called his name he, he got very nervous, hid behind
me and held my hand. When we got back to the room things
werent much different, he didnt want to sit in the chair, even
though cartoons were on in the TV above the chair. i sat next to
the chair and held his hand. The tech tried to get him to open his
mouth, there was no way Gavin was going to let her in his mouth.
So we decide to let Colin go first, why is a 2 year old at the dentist you ask,
weeeelllll, Colin lost a bottom tooth this last weekend. Yes your right 2 year olds arent supposed to loose teeth. So Colin got to tag along to the dentist, with big
brother Gavin. Colin hopped right up in the chair, she asked him to open his mouth
he opened right away, let her look at his teeth, count them and clean them.
Now it was Gavins turn again, well after seeing what she did to Colin, there
was no way Gavin was getting back up there. So i layed down on the chair and put Gavin on top of me, he did much better after that! They also counted his teeth and cleaned them. Then the dentist came, now this dentist has seen me since i was probably 10 years old. He noticed Gavin was having a hard time, so he just swooped right in got in Gavins mouth before Gavin could even say no, it was perfect, Gavin passed with flying colors. Colin was a next to see the dentist, once again did great, opened right up, Dr. Smith checked him out and checked out the tooth that i had brought in. he said it was a baby tooth, not an extra tooth. It was was "helped"out, if he feel on it a couple weeks ago, and then finally loosened to fall out, there could be a hundred scenarios. I guess we will never know what happened, but he said Colin is great, nothing is wrong with him, just an accident that happened. With 3 boys and no trips to the ER yet, i guess we were in for something. just glad nothing is wrong with him, just a gap in his mouth for the next 3 or 4 years. I guess he is trying to live up to us always telling him he is just like Jason, when Jason was little he knocked out his 2 front teeth, which gave him quite the gap fore a couple of years. Well that has been the excitement for here lately.

Day out with Thomas

Today we went up to Golden Colorado to have a day out with Thomas the train! Last year Colin was sick so only Gavin Jason and Papa went. But this year it was ALL of us!!! It was so much fun, really it was even fun for us adults. We saw Sir Topham hat, and got tattoos, Colin got Harold the helicopter and Gavin got James but Nolan was just a bit too young for a tattoo. Then we saw a fire truck and got fire hats. Next was playing with train tables, the boys did great sharing with all the other kids we were very proud!! Then they got to play on all the old trains there. Finally it was time to ride on Thomas they thought it was awesome, and it was!! They took us around the loop 3 times and Thomas tooted his little horn all the way. What a fun place for the boys, they were just in heaven!!!!! We even stopped at Krispy Kreme on the way home, the boys sure do love doughnuts.

lots to do...

So after we had landscaped, we thought take a break, nnoooo, so we went to the balloons Sat morning which was so much fun. The boys ad a great time and did great for being up so early. Colin couldnt stop talking about them all day,
the babboons he calls them. So we watched the first wave be blown up and take off then we watched the 2nd wave tkae a dip in the lake, i think this was the boys favorite

Then we decided to go to Santas Workshop, we did this exact same schedule last Labor Day, and with the same company, My cousins Joe and Jordan. Between the 3 boys and the 2 of them they all seem to adore eachother, and it is so much fun to watch them interact. Gavin seems to LOVE Jordan, holds her hand when they walk around, she seems like a big sister to him and she seems to love having him tag along. Colin on the other hand took to Joe, Joe was so good to him. And Nolan well he slept almost the entire time, ahh to be a babe.
Sants workshop is like six flags for toddlers, they went on every ride they could, i mean every ride. Colin was a little timmid of the rides at the beginning, but then once Gavin and Daddy went he saw it looked fun and so came Colin and mommy, and not but a footstep behind Joe and Jordan. We all had the best time. Grandma and Papa were gracious enough to walk around with Nolan. The boys were asleep once we hit the car.

intentionally going crazy

Yes thats right, we are trying to make ourselves crazy! So we decided that having 3 under 3 wasnt enough, we needed to landscape the entire backyard. YIKES!!! So yes we did the whole thing in about 2 weeks. It was insaine, but glad to be done with it now. And man it is beautiful if i dont say so myself, so that is why i have not been on here in awhile. But life has calmed down now, so i am back! I will take you step by step to show you how it went!

First we layed rock down all along the fence

Then we poured concrete, that added on to our existing patio
Then we built a dog run for the girls, with chain link fence.
With our yard being so uneven, we built a retaining wall
Then laying about 1000 sq. feet of sod began!
And this is what we ended up with
